Payton Sierra (Oglala Lakota) Leads UMM Cougars at Two Meets

HUTCHINSON/BUFFALO LAKE, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris women’s golf team finished fifth at the Viking Invite Friday, hosted by Bethany Lutheran. The Cougars then placed third at the BLC Invite Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Viking Invite – Friday

  • The Cougars shot a team score of 409 (+125) to finish fifth.
  • Payton Sierra (Oglala Lakota) tallied a season-best score of 88 (+17) to tie for third.
  • Kaya Quinn tied for 10th with a score of 95 (+24). 
  • Brittany Lormis shot a 110 (+39) to tie for 22nd.
  • Kim Novotny finished 25th with a score of 116 (+45). 

HOW IT HAPPENED – BLC Invite – Saturday

  • The Cougars shot a team score of 382 (+94) to finish third.
  • Sierra tallied a score 89 (+17) to tie for fifth.
  • Shelby Maloney finished seventh with a score of 91 (+19).
  • Tori Grates tied for 13th with a score of 95 (+23).
  • Skylar Tumbleson posted a score of 101 (+29) to tie for 17th.
  • Brittany Lormis shot a 107 (+35) to finish 24th.
  • Kim Novotny finished 27th  with a score of 111 (+39).
