OKLAHOMA CITY – Five different Evangels scored in double-figures and didn’t look back as the Mid-America Christian women’s basketball team cruised to a 103-39 victory over Bacone on Wednesday night in the Gaulke Activity Center.

GAME SUMMARY
- First Quarter
- Bacone’s Illeana Frenchman made a three to cut the MACU edge to 4-3 at the 8:22 mark before a layup by Anna Kash on the ensuing possession ignited a 17-point run. Sydney Wycoff converted a three-point play with 2:14 remaining to bring the score to 21-3.
- The Warriors were held without a score for nearly six-and-a-half minutes before a Kenya Scabbyrobe jumper ended the BC drought with 1:58 to go.
- McKenzi Lamer knocked down a three and Sydney Savage converted a put-back lay-in over the final 1:48 to send the Evangels into the second period with a 26-8 advantage.
- Second Quarter
- Mid-America Christian struggled to find a score in the first two minutes before Abby Bird converted a jumper at the eight-minute mark, starting a 15-2 streak that was capped off by three straight Presley Payahsape (Mvslkoke Creek) three-pointers. The last of her triples came with 4:41 on a bomb from the left wing, extending the Evangels’ edge to 41-12.
- A Jerrimontie Hester jumper on the following possession only briefly halted MACU as the Evangels countered with another 13-point unanswered run. Anna Kash opened it with a triple with 4:28 on the clock as Payahsape followed suit with another three. Aneli Thomsen and Sydney Savage each added layups before Kyleigh Leverich ended the streak with a three-pointer from the right corner to make it a 54-14 game with 27 seconds left.
- After Bacone’s Madison Slinkey knocked down a free throw with 5.87 seconds left, Leverich went coast-to-coast off the inbound as she was able to get a right-hand layup to go at the buzzer to send MACU into the half with a 56-15 lead.
- Third Quarter
- The Evangels continued to assert their dominance at the start of the third period as MACU scored nine of the first 12 as an Ossyana Ozoani layup stretched the edge to 65-18 with 6:12 to go.
- Following a Frenchman free throw at 5:58, Payahsape drilled another three to ignite another eight-point MACU run as a Lamer free throw made it a 73-19 contest with 3:01 left.
- Bacone managed to score five of the next seven to cut the MACU lead down to 51, but Wycoff was able to draw a foul with eight seconds left and knock down a pair of free throws to bring it to a 77-24 score heading into the fourth quarter.
- Fourth Quarter
- Lamer knocked down a three on MACU’s first possession of the period as the Evangels held Bacone without a score for the first 2:20. Lexi Hernandez ended an eight-unanswered Evangels streak with a steal at the top of the key and finished off a fastbreak layup to expand the MACU lead to 84-24 with 8:22 to go.
- A Bird fastbreak layup and a Kash free throw with seven minutes left stretch following a Hester layup brought the Evangels’ edge up to 87-26 before the Warriors were finally able to muster some offense. The Warriors managed to outscore MACU 9-4 over the next 3:50 to trim the lead down to 94-36 with 3:40 on the clock.
- Mid-America Christian scored the next nine off of two Thomsen lay-ins and a Jade Millan three before Payahsape gave the Evangels their largest lead of the contest with a fastbreak layup to make it 103-37 with 1:36 left.
