San Jose Earthquakes Forward Chris Wondolowski (Kiowa Tribe) Called to U.S. National Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski (Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma) has been named to the United States National Team’s final roster for their upcoming CONCACAF Cup Match against Mexico on Oct. 10 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (6:30 p.m. PT; FS1), as well as an international friendly against Costa Rica on Oct. 13 in Harrison, New Jersey (3:30 p.m. PT; ESPN).

Wondolowski, 32, has earned 31 total caps for the U.S. MNT since 2011 and scored 10 goals, most among all players who made their U.S. Soccer debut in 2008 or later. Wondolowski most recently made three appearances, including two starts, during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He was also among 23 players selected to represent the U.S. at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, making two appearances.

Wondolowski made his international debut on Jan. 22, 2011 in a 1-1 draw against Chile in Carson, CA, and later tallied his first international goal on July 5, 2013 in a 6-0 drubbing of Guatemala in San Diego. Wondolowski was a co-recipient of the Golden Boot Award at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup by notching a first-half hat trick against Belize on July 9 and adding a brace against Cuba on July 13.
