She’Chem Grant (Navajo/MBCI) Scores a Season High 16 Points in 75-65 Win over UT Dallas

JACKSON, Miss. — The Millsaps College men’s basketball team returned to the court on Wednesday for a non-conference game against the UT Dallas Comets.

A late three-pointer from Buck Blanz made it 30-30 at halftime, and the Majors outscored the Comets by ten points in the second half to secure the 75-65 win.

Millsaps picks up their fourth win in a row, and improves their record to 7-3. UT Dallas falls to 4-3 overall.

How It Happened
After the Comets opened up the scoring with a three-pointer, Saxton Becker answered on the other end with a long-range jumper of his own to tie things up at 3-3. UT Dallas scored the next 10 points unanswered before Joshua Miller ended the Comets’ run with a pair of free throws.

The teams continued to trade baskets in a low scoring first half, and UT Dallas held their lead until Millsaps scored five points inside the final minute of the half to tie things up at 30-30.

Ryan McLaurin opened up the second half by connecting on back-to-back three-pointers, and by the first media timeout the Majors had pulled ahead by nine points.

They would never trail the rest of the way.

The Comets got to within two points late, but Millsaps ended the game on an 8-0 run, including shooting 6-6 from the free throw line to secure the 75-65 win.
