Shoni Schimmel has been traded to the New York Liberty

NEW YORK (AP) The New York Liberty acquired All-Star point guard Shoni Schimmel from the Atlanta Dream for a 2017 second-round draft pick.

Schimmel, the eighth pick in the 2014 draft, has made the All-Star team in each of her first two seasons in the WNBA. She’s averaged 8.0 points, 3.4 assists and 1.5 3-pointers.

She was the MVP of the 2014 All-Star Game when she scored 29 points. Schimmel provides the Liberty with depth at the guard spot and a proven 3-point shooter.

  1. LOOKS LIKE I WILL HAVE A NEW FAVORITE TEAM-GO LIBERTY!!! SHONI WILL SHOW NEW YORK WHAT HER REZ BALL IS ALL ABOUT!

  2. Finally going where perhaps a coach may know what to do with her. Michael Cooper didn’t have a clue.

  3. Guess NDN Fans will be buying New York jerseys for XMas…. Bye Atlanta (coughing) LOSERS!!!

  4. Finally somewhere she can actually play. Girl is a baller. Watched her play at Louisville for four years. Girl could play some ball. She loves the game and can out play anybody she had the heart something Cooper didn’t get. He did not have a CLUE. I can’t believe that the women who own the Dream could let him take over that team and destroy it. I will now be cheering for The Liberty!

  5. Seattle would have been a great place for her. Close to Home AND a HUGE Native Base. So many Tribes here would get Season Tickets!
