Skyhawks Fall Short against Grizzlies, 3-2; Heather Danny (Navajo) Leads FLC with 32 Assists

DURANGO, Colo. – October 17, 2014 – Despite losing the first two sets of the match against Adams State University, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team battled back to tie the match, 2-2. The Grizzlies would come back to win the fifth set and hand the Skyhawks a 3-2 loss (19-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 13-15).

5_Heather_DannyThree Skyhawks posted double digit kills with Ashley Wells leading both teams with a match high 20 kills. Emily Dellenbach added 13 kills and Mallory Dill chipped in 12. Heather Danny  (32) and Ciara Krening (21) recorded 53 of the Skyhawks 59 assists. Ally Dell’Amico added a match high four aces and a match high 24 digs, followed by Wells’ 18 digs.

Madi Bickle postede one solo block and assisted on seven others. She also tallied six kills and two assists.

Lindsey Stindt notched 17 kills for Adams State. Katelyn Schwartz set up 50 assists.

The Skyhawks (5-15, 2-10) will play host to Western State and Colorado State-Pueblo Oct. 24 and 25 in Whalen Gymnasium.
