DURHAM, N.C. – University of South Alabama baseball right-hander Kevin Hill (Muscogee Creek Nation) was named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list, as announced by USA Baseball Wednesday.
Hill, who was also named to the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list, leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks sixth nationally with 78 strikeouts. He also ranks seventh in the nation in complete games (3). Hill also leads the league in ERA (1.78), is tied for the lead in innings pitched (70.2) and wins (7) and is third in opposing batting average (.207).
Hill was named the 2015 SBC Pitcher of the Year as a junior last season, and also earned All-American recognition from three different organizations along with being named first-team all-South Central Region and first-team all-conference.
He currently ranks sixth in career strikeouts (278) at USA, and is just 20 shy of passing former Jaguar right-hander Jon Lieber (298) for fourth on the all-time list.
