Stailee Heard (Seneca/Seminole/SacFox) Adds 14 For Oklahoma State who fall on the Road at Kansas in Big 12 Play

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team saw its three-game win streak end with a 70-64 loss against Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, Saturday night.

The Cowgirls fall to 10-6 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 play with the loss. They’ll look to bounce back when they return home for a battle with BYU on Wednesday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

OSU led for 25:31 of game time but was outscored 25-12 in the fourth quarter and shot just 37% from the field and 20% from three in the second half.

Anna Gret Asi led Oklahoma State with 16 points, while Quincy Noble and Stailee Heard added 14 points each. Praise Egharevba scored seven points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds off the bench for the Cowgirls.

The teams took turns going on short runs in the opening quarter, but a late three pointer from Heard would give OSU a 13-11 lead heading to the second.

The competitive play continued into the second quarter, with Asi getting going for the Cowgirls, scoring seven points in the period. Oklahoma State took a four-point lead to the halftime break.

In the third, the scoring picked up on both sides, with Kansas shooting 58.3 percent from the field while the Cowgirls scored 21 in the quarter. OSU would extend its lead to 52-45 heading into the fourth.

The Kansas defense tightened up in the final quarter, holding the Cowgirls to 1-9 shooting from three and forcing them into four turnovers on their way to the comeback victory.
