CHICKASHA – For the third time in four weeks, Drover pitcher Summer Leitka (Seminole Nation of Oklahoma) was recognized as the Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Leitka (9-1) struck out 12 batters in the complete game shutout over the Bethel Threshers. In the seven innings, she gave up four hits without walking a batter.
It was Leitka’s third shutout of the season.
Having seen seven starts — all of which were complete games — and 11 appearances, she leads the Drovers in strikeouts with 86 in just 58.1 innings in the circle. She has a 1.32 earned run average to date.
This is Leitka’s third SAC Pitcher of the Week honor in the four weeks of the award this season.
She transferred to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma this season from Northern Oklahoma College in Enid. She is an American Indian studies sophomore from Norman and the daughter of Sonny and Kathy Leitka. – See more at: http://usao.edu/sports/softball/news/leitka-earns-third-sac-honor#sthash.a18ztbS1.dpuf
