BALTIMORE (October 8, 2017) – Howard University Women’s Volleyball team extended its winning streak to four after knocking off conference foe Coppin State in straight sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-9).
HU (6-13, 3-1 MEAC) registered a .415 hitting percentage, compared to the Eagles’ .145.
Junior Tamia Dockery (Navajo) earned her third consecutive double-double, posting 39 assists and 11 digs. Senior Jessica Youngalso recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs in the victory.
Senior Khaila Donaldson provided a match-best 13 kills in the win. Newcomer Jurnee Tipton fell shy of a double-double, producing nine kills and nine digs.
For CSU (1-20, 1-3 MEAC), Marlena Guice had a team-high 10 kills while Dominique Madarang manufactured 23 assists in the loss.
HU begins a five-match home stretch, beginning with Hampton and Norfolk State.
Friday’s contest begins 7 p.m. while Sunday’s match is slated for 3 p.m.
Both matchups take place inside Burr Gymnasium
