MOSCOW, Idaho – A spirited first half from the oldest player on the team and an offensive outburst from the youngsters in the second led Idaho past Sacramento State, 94-90, in the final home contest of the season.
THE GAME
The first half was as exciting a game as the Vandal faithful could ask for, with six lead changes and two ties and neither team getting up by more than seven. Trevon Allen (Umatilla/Nez Perce) carried the load in the opening frame, scoring 17 points in 17 minutes of action. Sacramento State reclaimed the lead inside the final minute, but Idaho took it right back to go into the locker room up, 37-36.

RayQuawndis Mitchell scored 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting in the second half. Jared Rodriguez went 4-of-5 for 10 points in the second half. And Losini Kamara, who took no field goals on the night and averages just 1.2 points per game, went 4-of-4 from the free throw line, all inside the final 67 seconds of play.
The Vandals got up by as many as 14 in the second half, and found themselves up by 10 with 35 seconds to play. But the Hornets were able to chip away with a flurry of 3-pointers to make things interesting. In the end, the Vandals took care of business at the line and earned the 94-90 win.
