ARLINGTON, Texas — Kayla White and Starr Jacobs combined for 36 points to lead the UT Arlington women’s basketball team (3-4) past North Texas, 76-58, on Tuesday night inside the College Park Center (CPC).

With the victory, the Lady Mavs snapped a four-game losing streak as they enter a three-game road stretch, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup at Houston on Thursday.

White poured in a season-best 20 points while matching her season-high with seven field goals over 14 attempts. She added five rebounds and a pair of assists while tallying her third straight and fifth game overall with double-digits this season.

Jacobs, meanwhile, finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting while leading all players with five steals and adding a team-high three assists. It was her fifth consecutive outing with at least 15 points, and she’s averaging 19 points per contest over that stretch.

Another near double-double came from Shyia Smith, who made her 21st consecutive start dating back to last year. The Idabel, Okla. native registered nine points and nine rebounds, including a team-best four on the offensive glass.

As a team, the Lady Mavs finished 30-of-59 (.508) from the field to produce their 724th win in program history. They held large advantages in points in the paint (48-24) and fast break points (27-6) and led by as many as 24 late in the first half.

Freshman Alexsyah Goudeau (Cherokee) made her first collegiate start, finishing fourth on the team in scoring with a season-best eight while pulling down five rebounds, dishing out three assists and blocking a pair of shots.
