College Sports Madness Pre-Season Conference Selections
(Green Bay, WI) University of Wisconsin Green Bay junior Tesha Buck (Mdewakanton Sioux) was selected as the College Sports Madness Preseason Player of the Year as well as preseason All-Horizon League First Team.
Buck, a guard, was a Second Team All-Horizon League selection as a sophomore last season where she averaged 11.6 points per game and 3.2 assists per game. Tesha started in all 33 games last season for the Phoenix that was highlighted by being named the Horizon League Conference Tournament MVP.
Green Bay received the most accolades from College Sports Madness with four players being recognized and Kevin Borseth being named Coach of the Year. Phoenix junior Tesha Buck was named the preseason Player of the Year, and teammate Mackenzie Wolf was tabbed the league’s Freshman of the Year.
The Phoenix will open the season on October 31st with an exhibition game against Minnesota-Duluth at the Kress Center. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM CST.
