Wayne Runnels (Cheyenne/Arpaho) finishes with 42 points for Enid Outlaws Win over Wichita Prestige

The Enid Outlaws hosted a tired Wichita Prestige team today.  The Prestige arrived in Enid at 4:00 AM following a road game in Waco, Texas.  And the Outlaws wasted little time taking advantage of Wichita.   

The Outlaws opened a ten-point (31-21) lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  Tavares Sledge and Wayne Runnels helped jump start the offense with nine points apiece in the stanza.  Enid limited Wichita to 14 second quarter points openning up a 69-35 half-time lead. 

The 3rd quarter was more of the same, the Outlaws outscoring Wichita 41-14.  Substituting liberally throughout the game, the Outlaws sat their starters for most of the fourth quarter.  And, the bench came through outscoring Wichita 36-24. 

For the game, Enid had all ten player’s score.  They were led by Wayne Runnels who finished with 42 points.  Chance Comanche had 24 points and had several crowd-pleasing dunks.  Lindy Waters had 17 points, Brandon Mitchell 14, Tavares Sledge 13, Charlie Marquardt 12, and Brandon Jamar 11. 

Tevon Townsend and Michael Zeno led Wichita with 14 points each.  Marquez Patterson added 13 points. 

Coach Ed Corporal said after the game, “It was a good win for us.  We got to play everybody quite a bit and see where we need to work with some of our guys.  We know what our goals are for the season, and we just need to keep improving.” 

The Outlaws (6-0) travel to Little Rock on Saturday (May 1) before returning home on Sunday for a game against Waco.  Sunday’s game has a 4:00 tip.
