Wisconsin Sophomore, Jolie Fish (Mvskoke Creek) hit her first home run of the season in Win over Wildcats

BOCA RATON, Fla. – In their fifth and final game of the weekend, the Wisconsin softball team (4-1) took on the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (1-4) for the second time this weekend and won 4-0.

It was a quick three up and three down for the first inning and top of the second. When the Badgers had their second at-bat in the bottom of the second, things started to pick up.

Abby Herbst hit a single down the middle of the field that would set the tone for the rest of the team. Fiona Girardot followed her lead and recorded a single herself to get on base. Sophomore, Jolie Fish (Mvskoke Creek) capitalized and knocked one out to left-center field for the three-run home run to give UW a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, Kayla Konwent hit a double, and Morgan Kummer also got on base after being hit by the pitch. However, both runners would be left on base after a ground out, pop fly and a strikeout from the following hitters.

Wisconsin scored its last run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. Freshman Fiona Girardot crushed the ball out to center field, which would be the final score of the game, resulting in a 4-0 win for UW.
