SPOKANE, Wash. – Zalissa Sanfo posted 16 points and 14 rebounds, Kimberly Dewey added 17, but Whitworth suffered an 84-54 loss to Puget Sound on Saturday in its season finale.

The Pirates (9-16, 6-10 NWC) came in riding a three-game win streak which was their longest of the year, but it ended tonight as Puget Sound (18-8, 12-5 NWC) won its sixth straight over Whitworth.

Dewey, in potentially the final game of her Whitworth career led the team in scoring, shooting 6 of 16 from the field. Eight Pirates scored, but outside of Dewey and Sanfo no one scored more than four in the blowout loss.

The Loggers exploded out of the gate, shooting 76.5% (13-17) to go up 30-12 at the end of the first quarter. Paige Gerhart and Kennedy Brown combined for an 11-0 run to go up 15-4, before Claire Thompson capped a 13-2 run in the final minutes of the first to open up a 30-10 lead.

Whitworth put together a brief 7-2 run early in the second, Tara Kaneshiro found Sanfo outside for a 3-pointer that cut the Logger lead to 38-19, that was the last time the Pirates were within 20 the rest of the way.

Puget Sound opened up a 58-25 lead with an 8-0 run to start the second half, that lead was their largest of the day as Whitworth managed to keep pace from there.

The Pirates shot 18-59 (30.5%) and were 8-30 from 3-point range, committing 20 turnovers against a hurried Logger defense. Whitworth was outscored 38-14 in the paint, overwhelmed by a 52.5% shooting night from UPS.

Jordyn Reverman led three Loggers in double figures with 20 points on 8-11 shooting (3-4 from deep). Kennedy Brown and Paige Gerhart added 14 and 13 in 24 minutes.

Sanfo will finish her freshman campaign with five consecutive double-doubles including tonight, and ten on the season to lead the team. Dewey will finish second in scoring in the NWC in what might be her last season at Whitworth.
